The Second Annual AcroCamp Midwest. Last year it sold out in 30 days. This year will be even bigger. Don't wait to buy your ticket.
Maybe as a child you got to go away and make new friends and play in some wooded location camping out and singing songs by a fire. Just because you’ve grown up does not mean that those experiences have to end. That’s why there’s AcroCamp!!!
The goal of AcroCamp is to make new friends, play and learn from everyone who loves to play through the greater Midwest area. We have planned two and a half days in a beautiful private campground with hot showers and flush toilets. It’s located within an hour and a half of downtown Chicago. We’ll have workshops Saturday and Sunday offered by anyone attending that has a passion to share the love of their art with others in attendance. On Saturday evening, we’ll have a variety show performed by anyone attending that would like to get up in front of the audience and share their art with everyone. Open jam time is available all day everyday!
Prior acro and yoga experience is not required; though you'll have much more fun if you have the basics down before you arrive, there will be plenty of people available to share their love of the practice. If you haven’t been to a class there are lots of fabulous teachers throughout the Midwest who would love to share the practice with you. Ask me I’ll find you someone! It’ll be lots more fun if you show up knowing a thing or two. You’ll probably even make a few friends in class that will car pool with you.
Cost: Admissions: $50 before June 15 - Early Registration $75 after June 15 $100 after July 22 - Late Registration
Food: Three meals on Saturday, two meals on Sunday vegetarian fare $50 - Additional
This cost is the price of admission to the campsite alone. You are entirely responsible for your own food preparation if you choose not to purchase the meal ticket option. I suggest that you work in small groups to prepare meals and clean up together. Meals are a great place to chat and get to know people a little better.
Stone House Farms retreat center is located on a beautiful 34 acre partially wooded farm with a private pond, stream, bathhouse and showers as well as a stage and performance area.
When: August 9-11th
Arrive the afternoon of Friday the 9th, set up and jam and meet new people. Checkout time is 4PM on the 11th. You must check in before 9PM on Friday or you will not be admitted to the property until 8AM on Saturday.
Instructors:
You don’t need to be certified to teach at AcroCamp. There are lots of people that get certified that never get let loose on society again. That said you do need to have something that you want to share with others and you do need to be prepared to offer it in a safe way to ensure that everyone’s safety will be the first priority.
If you’d like to teach please message me and I’ll put you on the roster. If there is enough interest in teaching we will be offering several workshops at various levels during the same time slots.
Performers:
What do you do? Singing, dancing, spoken word, music, spinning fire… acro maybe?? Whatever it is that you do I’d love to put you on the schedule for Saturday evening and let you show it off. Let me know.
All activities will be held outside. We have very limited indoor spaces available. Please prepare accordingly.
